I did my Ph.D. in Machine Learning and Robotics in KTH supervised by Professor Karl H. Johansson, in KTH, Sweden. The topic was optimizing feature estimation and tracking through adaptive sampling and formation control of Autonomous Underwater Vehicles. I wanted to create a better and autonomous solution to track the algal bloom pollution problem worldwide. We developed control algorithms for single- and multi-agent systems using learning and control tools. The datasets used include satellite and sensor data.

During my Ph.D., I worked with SMaRC to implement my algorithms and evaluate its performance in field campaigns in the Baltic Sea, near Stockholm.

I’m also interested in reading and learning about equality, diversity, leadership research, as well as agile methodology and deep-tech innovation.

May 6, 2024 Today, my role at Univrses was impacted by layoffs. It seems that a big percentage of the company has been laid-off so far, and my team was eliminated. It was quite unexpected as I have only worked there for a couple days. The role was pretty exciting and I was looking forward to work with Computer Vision and Machine Learning for vehicle autonomy, together with this team that I got to meet and which were super kind in my on-boarding, making this news particularly unfortunate. Now I’m excited about my future and the new learning opportunities that await. If you have any ooportunity you would like to share, please reach out!
Sep 29, 2023 I just defended my PhD thesis titled Optimizing Ocean Feature Estimation and Tracking Through Adaptive Sampling and Formation Control of AUVs and it went great, with plenty of good discussions! The defense was on the 28th of September 2023 at KTH, with opponent Prof.Nina Mahmoudian and juri members Prof. Baris Fidan, Prof. Maarja Kruusmaa, and Prof. Jana Tumova.
